  • Looking ahead, what are your aspirations for the Concours’ future development and impact?
    • Looking ahead, our aspirations for the Concours involve a commitment to further developing the core attributes that distinguish our event from others in the industry. A key focus is on engaging and inspiring the younger generation, particularly those who have a passion for modern cars but may be losing touch with the rich history of automobiles.Recognizing that the younger demographic is often more focused on the contemporary and monetary aspects of cars, our goal is to bridge this gap by providing them with opportunities to delve into the history and appreciate the artistry of automobiles. It is essential to break away from the conventional perception that cars are solely about money and technical details. Generations X and Z have shown a keen ability to see and appreciate cars as more than just machines; they recognize them as works of art.
    • To achieve this, we aim to strengthen our event as a large platform that goes beyond the traditional boundaries of automotive showcases. By emphasizing lifestyle, art, and the overall realm of automobile enjoyment, we seek to provide a wider platform that appeals to a diverse audience. Furthermore, our commitment extends to creating an inclusive environment that welcomes more women into the automotive community, emphasizing that the Concours is not a purely technical event but a celebration of the lifestyle and enjoyment of the art form, breaking down barriers and ensuring a broader and more diverse participation.
  • Can you elaborate on the unique judging criteria used at the Concours? How does it ensure a diverse and meaningful selection of cars?
    • The Concours employs a unique judging approach centered around nostalgia, social impact, history, and art. All cars undergo a meticulous selection process through a curated expert selection committee , ensuring that the vehicles on the field are not only meaningful but also diverse in terms of nationalities, historical significance, and artistic value. To guarantee a comprehensive and meaningful selection, a blend of highly experienced, well-respected experts in the automotive field collaborate with VIPs and celebrity non-car enthusiasts as judges. This combination serves a dual purpose: leveraging the expertise of automotive specialists while also introducing a perspective from non-experts.
    • This approach is designed to alleviate pressure from VIP judges and allows for authentic, visceral reactions in the moment from individuals who may not be automotive experts but can appreciate the cultural, historical, and artistic aspects of the showcased cars. The result is a judging process that ensures diversity and meaningful evaluation, capturing the essence of each vehicle beyond technical specifications.

  • What personally drives your passion for the Concours and the world of classic and unique automobiles?
    • What personally drives my passion for the Concours and the world of classic and unique automobiles is the unique position I’ve held on the cutting edge of the car world for 22 years. Throughout this time, one of my key responsibilities has been to match the right car with the right client, creating a conceptual harmony between the individual, the car, and the event.Understanding the history of each car and the personality of the individual allows me to curate experiences that ensure the best possible match. Having been involved in the restoration and customization of cars at a very high level for an extended period, I recognize that showcasing these vehicles is not mandatory, and it can be a daunting world, particularly with changing attitudes and a need for greater inclusivity.
    • The passion driving my involvement in the Concours stems from a desire to address challenges in the landscape, such as the perception that women don’t actively engage or find it unwelcoming, and the difficulty men face in encouraging women to attend events. Recognizing a shift in the promotion of the pure automotive to lifestyle experiences that automobiles can bring to owners, I am motivated by the opportunity to create events that address these issues and provide a welcoming and inclusive space. This passion is the driving force behind the Concours, pushing me to come up with innovative solutions to unanswered questions in the automotive world.
  • If you could own any car in the world, regardless of limitations, what would it be and why?
    • I would have a different car for every occasion – dress up or down – I have a car I could choose! But, If I could only have one – I would also go with a vintage Land Rover Defender 110. I love the industrial design, the “can do” attitude and the “blue Jeans” like utility of these storied vehicles. I also love their incredible historical provenance – being the vehicle that has led more expeditions into the wild, around the globe, than any other vehicle – combined!
    • Additionally, for a touch of luxury and style, I would also choose a vintage Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato. The timeless design, storied history, rarity and sheer beauty of these vehicles would satisfy mine or anyone’s desire for high-end, iconic sports car. This combination of an adventurous Land Rover and an incredibly sexy Aston Martin, would provide me with all I need to reach car nirvana!
